I do only android but my experience is different. I use JDK, AS Beta/Canary, gradle 7.1 and emulator - these all support ARM. I see S, 11 and 8 Android emulator images. In overal I worked on Mac Intel latest 16GB laptop before and so far M1 beats the performance and doesn't bring much issues.
